PHATFUNK is Bangkok's club night fusing all underground bass heavy music styles. We feature mostly Drum&Bass but also Breaks, Classic HipHop, UK Garage and Dubstep. Join us every second Friday of the month for our regular club night at Café Democ.

AZEK
One of the PhatFunk’s founders, Azek has been propelling hard hitting breaks, grooving basslines, and jazzy styles of Drum&Bass since 2007. With a tendency to also delve deep and explore Old Skool Hip-Hop and Rap with European and Latin influences, Azek’s sets are fresh and funky.
Such musical energy has seen Azek busting out tunes alongside DJs, Futurebound (Viper Recordings), Outrage (Metalheadz, J-Tek Records), Mischief, Kik Crash, Pichy, T-Base and Phinka in clubs like Club Culture, 808, Parkbridge, or Café Democ. Azek has also recently jumped into Drum&Bass production with a sound heavily influenced by Bingo and CIA records.

INSTINCT
Instinct has been DJing Drum & Bass / Jungle music in nightclubs since 1994. His preferred style is the funk & soul fueled variety, but he also plays across the whole spectrum of Drum & Bass genres. Instinct has played alongside the biggest names in D&B including Andy C, Adam F, Brockie, Ed Rush & Optical, Nicky Blackmarket, Randall, Ray Keith, Roni Size to name a few.
Production wise Instinct has been inspired by the '97 sound of D&B, like Adam F, Peshay & Roni Size & Represent's Jazzy sound. After some time spent saving up & learning how operate an analogue studio Instinct released his first track on One Nation's Volume 3 Drum & Bass compilation under the guise 'Devils Own'. And shortly after followed another release with close friends Matt Deep & Shafie (Frequency, Subtitles), as the Kryptonite Kru on Destiny Records.
Instinct now resides in Bangkok, Thailand and collaborates with Azek, Orawan and Delorean in promoting their own club night called PhatFunk & also a monthly radio show for UB Radio (Underground Bangkok Radio).
