Thornelius van Knatterboom was strongly influenced by the nightlife of Frankfurt in the early 90ties – Tekkno, House and Breakbeats dominated the scene. During this time he bought his first records and learned how to spin. Thorn played at all kind of venues and also organized parties. His way of spinning and partying gave him the name thornado.

2005 thornado moved to Bangkok and brought his turntables, mixer and parts of his record collection. He played in clubs like Astra, Parkbridge, BarBar, GLOW, Café Democ, Met Bar and Polly’s Bar.

thornado had his first weekly residency in 2007 at Breaks Bar with Baptiste Maurhan & Matt Cole followed by monthly events at GLOW. thornado also played at the legendary ‘Club Professionals All-Stars’ Party at Astra, besides Hans Nieswandt and Acid Pauli.

Since August 2008 thornado and Dj Redoo host the ‘Wasted Angels’ night at BarBar. There they enjoy the freedom to play whatever they want and have the chance to take the crowd on a journey into their definition of electronic dance music.
