DJ Name: DJ Simon Mackay
Genre: Soulful House - Deep House
Website: www.simonmackay.com

Teaming up with Jules Bena to form Simon and Jules, the two quickly gained a reputation for quality, upfront mixing and a unique blend of house music.

The two played on the B-Bop boat parties alongside house and garage greats Dave Norton and Martin Metcalf whilst maintaining regular sets with Ziance and branching out with Garage in the Attic.

Simon's passion for quality house music led him to DJ up and down the country, most notably playing two of the Mixmag Club Country Ball's at the Sanctuary, Milton Keynes. In 1998 he warmed up for DJ Sonique in the main room before rocking the upstairs with Jules alongside Andy Ward and Kiddo.

As the years went on the reputation grew and other big nights followed in London, where he played with Karl "Tuff Enough" Brown, Matt "Jam" Lamont and Jason Kaye. This hard work culminated in a New Years Eve bash in London's Leicester Square where he played with The Dreem Team and house legends Bobby & Steve.

Now residing in Bangkok, Thailand, Simon has hooked up with Darren Mac, veteran DJ and club promoter in the UK, to become resident at Bangkok's finest nightclub Twisted Republic.

Through the Soul Republic House Sessions nights he has carved out a name for himself once again as "one of the most enthusiastic and passionate DJ's I've ever seen!!!"

Guest DJ's at these nights have included Chris Samba (Soul Heaven/Dragon I, HK), and Aaron Ross (Defected/Strictly Rhythm/Fanatix).

Simon branched out further in 2008 with the Universal Player events in and around Bangkok. These events at Syn Bar, The Nest and Tivoli Hotel proved worthwhile and the fan base grew.

Testament to the increase in his popularity his mixes are one of the most downloaded on ubradio.net, Bangkok's finest online underground radio station.

Simon has many influences, but the most notable are, Miguel Migs, Richard Earnshaw, Morton Trust, Full Intention, Andy Ward, David Morales, Grant Nelson, Bobbi & Steve, Fanatix and of course Masters at Work.

His style of music can be categorized as funky, bass driven house and expect to hear similar things when he releases his own tracks in early 2009.
